Scenes from the Sewing Room – What is this?

Green Tweed Owl

Pao has been talking about totems and I thought I’d show one of mine.

The very strange green tweed owl was made by me.  As you can see, toy making is not one of my strong points but somehow I liked him. I don’t mind that I cut off the point of his ear when I was clipping the corner and I don’t worry that he doesn’t look a lot like an owl.

No, he doesn’t have a name, he’s an object.  Could he fit the William Morris criteria?  He’s not beautiful but he does have a use.

He reminds me not to take myself or my sewing too seriously.  Sewing is fun!

Thank you for all your good wishes for my little business. I appreciate your support. xx

  1. He’s lovely! I love some items for their quirky homespun nature, it gives them character. He would have to have a name in our house though… xxxx

  2. He reminds me of raggydolls – kids cartoon TV back in the 1980’s they were the rejects from the toy factory but they came to life, – eye missing, legs on backwards etc, bonkers but love it.
